Fishing
Black Corries Estate has over a dozen wild brown trout lochs, varying in size and providing good sport. Some lochs contain an abundance of smaller trout, which are ideal for keeping children interested, whereas others contain larger specimens of over a pound. Due to the locations of these, a reasonable level of fitness is required. A stocked rainbow trout pond sits below the lodge, containing fish of considerable size. Ideal for an evening cast. As part of our Fishing weeks 2 Ghillies can be available each day for boats and casting tuition.

Game shooting
Grouse shooting is solely done over the Estate pointers. A bag of 1-5 brace each day can be expected. Our ethos is that we are not about the weight of the game bag, but instead we enjoy a great day out shooting over a team of good dogs in a stunning landscape. Torridon, our Highland Pony will bring lunches out in the panniers in the traditional way when shooting on the East beats. The Estate has a small Partridge shoot, offering 80-100 bird days once weekly during the winter from End/Oct until Christmas. Limited walked-up snipe and Woodcock shooting, duck flighting and Ptarmigan among the high tops is available upon request at certain times of year.

Clay pigeons
Our Qualified instructors with guide you through our small exclusive clay pigeon shoot and can cater for parties of up to 12. The shoot will offer some challenging birds in a number of scenarios by using automatic traps. The perfect ice-breaker on a Monday morning as part of a full mixed weeks.

1000yard Range
Breath…hold…Squeeze. Long range shooting has become as popular as Clay Pigeon. With targets from 100-1000yards, have you got what it takes to touch the holy grail of long-range shooting and hit the 1000yard target?

Boat trips
As part of your week, we can offer a trip out onto the 8-mile Blackwater reservoir. Completed in 1909, it was at the time the largest hydro scheme in Europe, but a very long way. Boat trips can also be arranged from Ballachulish and Oban.

Hill walking/mountaineering
Black Corries estate is situated just a short trip from many of Scotland’s ‘Munro’ hills, summits over 3,000 ft above sea level. Local Mountain Guides can be arranged if required.

Stalking
There’s no such thing as an easy one. At Black Corries we believe in working for our game and will cover every square inch of the ground, and cull very selectively for the benefit of our deer and in accordance with our Deer Management Plan. Black Corries is predominantly a hind forest so will start to stalk stags from late July onwards with a maximum of two stags per week until the rut breaks out in late September and October. The October period is one which the Owners will retain. During the earlier part of the season we can offer one or two stags per week along with the other sport available. Please note that Summer stalking is not for the faint hearted, and a good level of fitness is required. Other opportunities available upon request.
